“Hauwei’s strategy in enterprise business is passive integration, which means we are strongly focused on our industry partnerships with resellers and integrators to provide end-to-end solutions to enterprise customers.”

The Chinese technology giant is probably best known by most for its consumer hardware, and there is no denying that it has been very successful in penetrating this portion of the South African market.

However, at a recent press briefing in Johannesburg, Lauren Fan, President at Huawei Enterprise: Eastern and Southern Africa, explained that the company plans to drive hard into the enterprise space.

“Huawei as a brand is well known in the carrier markets. We are now boldly making ourselves known in the enterprise space,” said Fan.

“Through the enterprise road show we aim to broaden our reseller channel knowledge and skill sets in the networking arena,” he concluded.

The initiative will be spearheaded by the Hauwei Mobile Road show, which sees a massive converted truck that serves as a platform to show off various Hauwei initiatives, including Virtual Teller Machines, unified communication terminals, IP networks, security systems and data centre demos.
